The Garden at Ostende orientates a playful approach and invitation to how we see and experience the world around us on a micro and social level through the practice of drawing that pulls the viewer closer to inspection.
Public Portrait with Yukie Hori was a collaborative installation that involved drawing the staff from Hotel Ostende, who signed their names on completion of each portrait.
Beach-Combing - each day I walked the beach at Ostende-Pinamar, collecting plastic debris washed up on shore, drawing these objects on paper that were presented as a ‘book of notations’, a record of a time, a place, an event transformed into ambiguous compositions - the dichotomy of human trash.
